While I was vacationing at Rocky Mountain National Park, I noticed this lone fisherman who looked at peace with nature. It was so quiet, and he was able to ignore the hikers walking around the lake. Perhaps he was a local, perhaps he was on his dream vacation. What a beautiful place to practice your favorite pastime!

Floral Color Palette

I have added some beautiful florals to my Zazzle Store. This time I focused on purple and orange. One was found in the wild, the other was planted in a regional park. Both had a beauty that I hope I captured on (digital) film.

Also known as "Silver Lupine," it is native to California and can be found in many other locations as well. Be sure to look out for it next time you travel to regional, state, or national park!

I spotted these beautiful flowers on the grounds of Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont.They were planted by the Patterson House, where it thrived in a lovely garden. Alas, there was no tag to tell me the name of these beauties. But name or no name, they are a pleasure to behold and to share!

Can Trees Be Poetry?

In my previous posting I wrote about (and posted the photos) of a hike I recently took in a fair green country. From several viewers I heard the comment that it resembles the Shire (you Tolkien fans know what I'm talking about). I hadn't thought about it, but yes, it does!

My next thought was that the Tree Poetry photo – my new addition to the Zazzle store – must be the Party Tree, but the slope is probably too steep for comfortable partying.

This tree dominated the landscape, it was so much larger than any of the other trees. Bent branches reaching in every direction. Can trees be poetry? They are if we can believe Joyce Kilmer. He once wrote:

Green Landscapes

Recently I went on a hike at one of our regional parks. Although the first part of the hike was rather steep and very challenging, the downhill part of the trail was a gently downslope that led me to a lush green landscape. It was a beautiful sunny day and the quiet, peaceful scenery was like a sedative to my busy mind. Instead of running to keep up with life, I could slow down and just enjoy the view. Below are some of the places that I found along my path. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I did.

Such an inviting landscape. What would happen if you entered the valley? Could you drink from the pond? Is the grass soft when you lie down on it? Imagine yourself in this lush green valley every time your eyes rest on this print.

This was such a cool barn. Seemingly in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by green hills, this barn did not detract from the landscape, but enhanced it with its charm. The cows that were grazing nearby were lucky residents indeed!
